As I've said earlier this was the first Joy Division "LP" I ever bought. Of course it's not actually a real LP - rather a retrospective released in 1995 to mark the 15th anniversary of Ian's death. It's hard to pick a standout track here as such as all of the songs are excellent. I love Something Must Break. The sense of urgency in that song is phenomonal. And is there a better way to cap off an album with a song like Atmosphere?

The only real weak song for me is Only Mistake. Others would probably nod to Novelty as filler - but I've always loved it. I don't understand the slack it gets. The guitar line in is brilliant! Oh and I forgot Dead Souls. I heard the Nine Inch Nails cover version at first and was impressed by it. Until I heard this. Why wasn't it released as a single? Please somebody tell me.....seriously.....

I'd wholeheartedly recommend this album to a first-time listener. It might take a few listens to get used to Ian's voice but with persistance you'll be rewarded!
