Gillian Gilbert

Band Role : Groupie (I guess)

Although not part of Joy Division's line-up, Gilbert would later play a key part after the formation of New Order becoming the band's second guitarist and keyboardist. It is believed that she (as well as the rest of the New Order) auditioned for the role as lead vocalist. She can be heard singing on a number of New Order tracks, most memorably (at least in my mind) on Doubt's Even Here on Movement.

In the early 90's Gillian finally stepped down from New Order in order to take care of her children. She is sadly missed by a large number of New Order devotees, including myself.
