This set of recordings for the old BEEB manages to capture the band at their mind-blowing best. I was reluctant to pick up this CD at first, due to the fact that both She's Lost Control and Transmission are repeated twice. I needn't have worried, they might as well be two different songs. The first versions of the tracks were recorded in early 1979 and are generally slower and more brooding than the one's that appear later in the album. The latter version of She's Lost Control is sheer brilliance. It left me breathless the first time I heard it and I still play it regularly on my MP3 player.

The interview track provides a little bit of comic relief too! I couldn't actually tell who was speaking until recently and I was surprised to find out that was in fact Ian who spoke with the higher tone of voice. God I'm just a little bit of an obsessee, aren't I?
